We’ve long been big fans of Walkers Wotsits and know that there are millions of others who also love these cheesy snacks! The question for vegans though is are Wotsits vegan and can you eat them?
The bad news is that although currently, Wotsits are suitable for Vegetarians, they are not currently suitable for Vegans, this is because they use milk in the product, so sadly vegans can’t eat Wotsits… but wait, hope is not lost, we’ve got some great news for you!
If you opt for the flaming hot flavour of Wotsits then they will be vegan! This is because this flavouring doesn’t use the same ingredients (specifically milk) which means it’s the green light to eat them, however, it’s important to note that they do state that they are made in a factory that handles milk, so for those with allergies or vegans who adhere to the basis of not eating anything that may have traces of milk or other non-vegan products it may not be for you.
So if you’re asking are flaming hot Wotsits vegan then the answer is a yes. We recently had a big craving for some Wotsits and although we couldn’t have the cheese flavour we opted for a big bag of the new Wotsit Giants flaming hot and went through the whole bag rather quickly!
Much like Cheetos which are a similar version of these cheesy wotsits but available in the US, the UK equivalent are made by Walkers.
For those of you wondering if Wotsits are gluten-free the answer is yes although be aware that although there are no gluten ingredients within the Wotsits they are made in a factory which handles wheat & barley.
Let us know if you’ve found any vegan Wotsit alternatives that are the cheese flavour as we still would love to try ones that have this cheese flavour but which are suitable for vegans.
